Bothne Engineering

Founded in September 2005, and located approximately 1 hour North of Austin, Bothne Engineering provides MEP design services for new construction, additions and renovations. 

Serving both the public and private sectors all across Texas, our streamlined, virtual approach to business can react quickly to provide needed design services.  Our goal is to exceed the expectations of every customer by providing personal service and support with every project. 

Coming from a non-engineer background with extensive business experience in the customer service industry, the  president of Bothne Engineering – Dorothy M. Bothne, P.E.,  understands the value of a happy customer.  

Currently with  18 years engineering experience, Ms. Bothne has successfully combined the communication and people skills of customer service, the skills of a business owner with the  technical skills of an engineer – creating a unique individual who can translate between the technical and non-technical worlds. 

Cindy Smith is currently our CAD manager. Cindy has over 17 year's experience in computer Aided Drafting. Cindy graduated from ITT Technical Institute. Cindy is proficient in the disciplines,HVAC Mechanical,Electrical and Plumbing. She also has experience working in Structural,Civil and Industrial Mechanical. Cindy is very flexible and adaptable to the deadline pressures and she always has a cheerful attitude.

Ingrid Requejo is our Administrated Assistant and Intern. She keeps us organized and on task. Ingrid is currently persuing her Architectural Specialization Degree at A.C.C. She has exceptional multi-tasking skills. She works well with others and her sense of humor is greatly appreciated in our office.

We look forward to expanding  and guiding Bothne Engineering into a new era of alternative energy and sustainable design. 

CURRENT PROJECTS

Bothne Engineering is currently working on another Fire/EMS Station to be LEED certified in the Austin Area.  The first LEED certified Fire/EMS Station in the Austin area achieved a Silver Rating in 2006.  Ms. Bothne played an active role in the LEED analysis and design of the first LEED certified Fire/EMS Station in the Austin area

WTP4:  HVAC and Plumbing design for the new Water Treatment Plant 4 in Austin, Texas.  This project has a strong emphasis on minimizing any disruptive effects of the water treatment plant in an environmentally sensitive area, with two buildings attempting LEED silver certification

MEP design for the New Herman Brown Free  Library in Burnet, Texas - attempting LEED gold certification.
